PLANNING A SOCIAL TRANSFORMATION: A CONTRIBUTION TO THE RESEARCH OF WWII COLLABORATION IN SERBIA

Apstrakt:

During the occupation of Serbia in WWII a group of intellectuals in the Ministry of Education and Religion tried to conceive a new cultural policy and impose it on the Serbian people. While some elements of this policy were implemented during the war and affected mostly cultural production under occupation, several extensive long-term projects for a thorough transformation of Serbian society were also made. This article aims at showing and describing these projects and putting them in adequate historical context, thus providing a contribution to the research of the WWII collaboration in Serbia.
