Dr Aleksandar Raković
Aleksandar Raković (Belgrade, Serbia, 1972) received his bachelor's, master's, and PhD degrees in history at the Scool of Philosophy, University of Belgrade. He defended his master's thesis, The Yugoslav Public and the Irish Revolution 1916-1923 on July 10, 2007 at the Department of History (History of Yugoslavia). On January 18, 2011 he defended his doctoral dissertation Rock and Roll in Yugoslavia 1956-1968 - A Challenge to a Socialist Society, also at the Department of History (Yugoslav History). He is a senior research fellow at the Institute for Recent History of Serbia in Belgrade.
He is editor of five books of proceedings and thematic issues of journals published in Serbian. The 10th International Herceg Novi Book Fair in Montenegro (2012) awarded Rock and Roll in Yugoslavia 1956-1968 the Book of the Year Award. In 2015, the National Archives of Indonesia awarded him for his "outstanding contribution for his commitment to the protection, preservation, research, and publication of diplomatic relations archives," published in the books Yugoslavia - Indonesia 1945-1967, in Serbian and English.
